As a Diesel Technician Helper , you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing our modern fleet of motor coaches, ensuring safe and efficient transportation services throughout New York State and beyond.

Responsibilities:

• Assists in the maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, and other mechanical systems of motor coaches.
• Adheres to safety protocols and guidelines while working in a shop setting.
• When necessary, assists with the safety, maintenance, cleanliness and of the shop.
• Assists in maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities.

Requirements:

• Minimum of one year’s mechanical experience in the diesel or automotive industry.
• Availability for 1st shift training with flexibility for 2nd shift work including holidays and weekends.
• Valid NYS driver's license.
• Strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to learning.
• Capability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

• Performing welding and fabrication tasks on various motor coach components, including frames, body panels, and structural elements.
• Inspecting, testing, repairing, and making necessary adjustments to welded joints and fabricated parts to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.

• 3 or more years as an Auto Body Mechanic with strong welding skills, preferably in the motor coach or school bus industry.

Trailways of New York, a prominent family-owned intercity bus company established in 1926, is currently seeking skilled Diesel Mechanics to join our team at the Pine Hill/New York Trailways Fleet Maintenance Facility in Kingston, NY.

As a Diesel Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing our modern fleet of motor coaches, ensuring safe and efficient transportation services throughout New York State and beyond.

Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance and repair tasks on diesel engines, transmissions, and other mechanical systems of motor coaches.
• Conduct diagnostic tests to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working in a shop setting.
• Assist in maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities.

Requirements:

• Minimum of one year’s experience in the mechanical industry, preferably with a focus on diesel vehicles
• Proficiency in diagnosing mechanical issues and repairing diesel systems.
• Availability for 1st shift training with flexibility for 2nd shift work including holidays and weekends.
• Possess own basic tools required for the job.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and DOT physical examination.
• Valid NYS driver's license.
• Strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to learning.
• Capability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities and Duties:

As a driver you will operate luxury motorcoaches from one location to another to provide transportation to thousands of passengers. Your duties include picking up passengers, maintaining cleanliness of the coach, completing required inspections and making minor repairs, collecting ticket fares, helping passengers to load and unload baggage, collaborating with our 24-hour dispatch, and following time schedules.

CDL Class B Motor Coach Driver (CDL Training Offered!) Requirements:

• minimum age of 24 years
• clean driving record for past 36 months at minimum
• CDL Class B with passenger and air brake endorsements required
• Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
